Annie Jr Auditions

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, with a beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, Annie JR. features everyone’s favorite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, finding a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

With plenty of parts to go around, including featured roles as well as ensemble parts for orphans, servants and tourists

Audition Process

At Thespian Arts we aim to make our audition process as friendly, welcoming and non pressured as possible. Our Annie auditions will feature a group audition workshop for all auditionees on 23rd November.  Everyone wanting to be involved in the production needs to attend this session, and for those who just wish to be part of the ensemble, this is all you will have to do! Those children do not need to prepare a solo audition, just turn up on the day and take part in the session planned! Everyone who attends this session will get a part.

If you would like to be considered for a lead role, or a smaller speaking role, you will need to book an additional, 5 minute solo audition, on 30th November. Please use the audition packs below to prepare. Click on the audition materials of the character you wish to try for (this will open up in a separate window), rehearse, and then perform for us! Those that do not want lead or small roles, do not need to attend this session, or prepare anything.

On 7th December we will welcome everyone back, and also have call backs. A call back is just to see some more of your performing style and to maybe try pairing you with other cast members, to see what the chemistry is like. After this session, everyone will receive an email confirming the casting, before the 14th December.

Please see the audition packs below for those who would like to try for either lead roles, or small speaking roles. You can choose any of them, so pick something you think will show your ability well.
