School Of Rock Auditions
Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! School of Rock is a two-hour, two-act musical (plus interval), based on the hit movie. The show follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There, he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?
To audition for this production, please contact our team to book your place. Everyone who wishes to be involved, must attend on Wednesday 10th January from 6:00 till 8:30pm. It is free of charge.
Those wishing to audition for main roles must let us know and rehearse using the relevant audition pack below (click on the character you wish to audition for - this will open up in a separate window). You'll be pulled out of the group audition to do your singing audition.
On Saturday 13th January we have an amazing opportunity for auditionees - a workshop with Jake Sharp, who played Dewey in School of Rock on the West End! This is an optional workshop but would be so beneficial for anyone wanting to participate. It is open to the public, so you don't have to be an auditionee to take part. Places are limited so if you would like one, let us know as soon as possible!
On Wednesday 17th January we will have call backs and solo acting and instrument auditions. Only those wanting lead roles need to attend on this day. It is free of charge.
If you wish to just simply be involved in the production and not necessarily have a main role, then you will not need to complete a solo audition and can just attend on Wednesday 10th January.
Everyone will then come back together on Wednesday 24th January for the first proper rehearsal, and it is £7.50 per child from this point!
Audition Packs
Please note, you may be asked to sing with the piano accompaniment during the audition. If you are choosing 'Ned' or the small solo part audition pack, please learn all of the song not just one section. It is so we can see what your vocal range is. If you need any assistance during practice, please contact our team.
If you are auditioning to be in the band (Dewey, Zack, Tomika, Freddie, Lawrence), please choose to either play a song which you feel best demonstrates your playing ability, or choose to play 'Teachers Pet' for which the band parts are available below
BOOK AN AUDITION SLOT
