Footloose: Youth Edition

Poster.png

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the live stage with exhilarating results.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn't prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town's youth that he cannot command in his own home.

To the rockin' rhythm of its Oscar and Tony-nominated Top 40 score (the soundtrack album reached number one on the Billboard charts and has sold over 17 million copies!) and augmented with dynamic new songs for the stage musical, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

Rehearsals will be on Fridays at Little Aston Village Hall, Sutton Coldfield, B74 3UF. Sessions are £7.50 each.

Show week will take place at The Marion Charlton Community Theatre (Streetly Community Centre) from Wednesday 7th July 2027 to Sunday 11th July 2027.

No experience is necessary, and everyone who attends audition day gets a role!

A group session will take place on the audition day (2/10/26) where everyone will learn some show material. This allows us to see who stands out, and who works well together. During this group audition, those who want to try for lead roles will be taken to another room to do solo auditions, using one of the audition packs that is linked below. Auditionees do not have to do a solo audition, as everyone who attends on audition day gets a role in the show. You do however, have to do a solo audition if you want to be considered for a lead role.

Audition Packs (containing scripts)

Click below to view the audition packs. The tracks for songs can be found further down the page.

You can use these to prepare a solo audition, in hopes of being cast in a lead role.

You do not have to prepare a solo audition if you are happy just being in the ensemble.
