Since 2023 we have worked with Thespian Arts to create a bespoke curriculum to ensure that all of our children from Y1 - Y6 have the opportunity to learn how to play a musical instrument which for us is the ukulele. Sessions are delivered either to full classes as part of our PPA cover or as part of small group sessions. As a result of this, all children within our setting have had the opportunity to engage with music in a way that we could not provide with our usual music teaching - including those who have an EHCP and need an individual and tailored approach to enable them to access the curriculum.

 

The Thespian team work closely with our teachers in school to ensure that the provision they provide aligns with our existing music curriculum and enhances what we are able to provide. They have worked hard to create an assessment system which both motivates the children and allows for the planning of catch up.

 

From an operational point of view, Owen the director, is always on hand to discuss new ideas and approaches and communicates well with us to ensure that the tutor has access to CPD and informs of of any upcoming changes to provision.

 

We have been really impressed with the work completed by Thespian and hope in the future this partnership will grow.

'We have been working with Thespian Arts Theatre for the past twelve months. Fistly, to teach our peripatetic lessons in guitar, piano, flute and clarinet and secondly, to teach our year 5 and 6 music curriculum each week. This is by far the most enthusiastic music company I have ever used. They have organised performance afternoons for our parents to enjoy the children's progress in their individual peripatetic lessons - I found this to be exceptionally professional and we cannot wait for our next event! The children in our music lesson really enjoy Mr Guttridge and find his teaching methods a fun and enjoyable way to learn the ever-increasing complex music curriculum. 

Owen, the Director is always looking for ways to improve participation with the arts and has now partnered with us to deliver our Holiday Activity Program in the Summer Holidays. I know that this partnership will continue to grow from strength to strength.

Highly recommend! My daughter goes to the musical theatre group, it’s ran perfectly and she’s gained so much confidence while being here and has really come out of her shell. Shoes are amazing all the staff and children put in so much effort and always pull off amazing shows. The staff are just fab and I’m so glad I found this group for my daughter.

I was lucky enough to help out at the Gt Barr branches performance of Oliver Junior this week. It was amazing! It is so well run and all the kids are encouraged throughout. There was so much talent on and off the stage and everyone is so friendly. If you have a young person who would like to try musical theatre then this is definitely the place to try.

Thespian arts have just ran the holiday club that my child attended for the week in Brownhills. I'm so overwhelmed and happy with the service that Owen and the team provided, they made sure my son was included as much as possible, set up a 121 for him for the week and always gave me a rundown of the activities etc. each day. my son has complex special needs so I struggle to find childcare or clubs he can attend but he really enjoyed his week here and I look forward to booking more in the future 🙂

My son (8yr Old) had been having virtual guitar lessons with Owen since the start of lockdown. I am absolutely amazed by not only his progress and enthusiasm but how Owen has encouraged him to find his passion for playing! I no longer have to ask or remind him to practice & now just regularly (often more than once a day) hear him pick up his guitar and have a play! Can not recommend Thespian enough, absolutely fantastic thank you.

Facebook does not let me give you another 5* review but I just wanted to say the guitar zoom lesson today was fantastic. A great distraction for my girls who are missing normal interactions and allows them to still learn to play the guitar. Thank you for doing these lessons.

I would very much highly recommend these guys, my daughter is on the Autism Spectrum and Owen has taught her guitar for around 12 months now, having patience and understanding, she has come a long way, and enjoys every single lesson. She started dance there a while back now with Charlotte also, no pressure, no forcing to do anything. Just fun, enjoyment and fab lessons every week. A really good community group, involved parents and students and all the time.

Thespian Arts are absolutely incredible and the most generous people ever. I hosted a charity quiz night and they kindly donated £80 worth of vouchers for people to use! This is absolutely amazing and the money we raised last night will help young people with Cancer and also help them get wigs. I can’t recommend them enough so people reading this, you won’t waste your money using this incredible company.

We had the joy of 2 shows from Thespian at a little music festival we organised and had the talent within this group is 10!0 keep up the amazing & hard work that everyone puts in. I had the pleasure to DJ on Thespian Arts procession float at Pelsall Carnival. They are a fantastic company who bring enjoyment to many young people. Their sessions are great and the work they do in the community is excellent. Keep it up Thespian Arts!!

My son had his first guitar lesson on Sunday and would like to say how amazing the tutor was. He held my son’s attention for the whole hour which I can assure you is not an easy task. We have a busy house with 4 children, he was very patient when they wanted to watch and ask questions. I wasn’t sure how my son would get on with only just turning 5 but I was amazed with the lesson, thank you Owen.

My 7-year-old had a great time getting to know new people and learning a new skill. He picked up so much in a week. Owen and co were not only warm, friendly and engaging but they were accommodating to our individual needs. He is very patient and has a healthy attitude around children. Passionate young people doing so so good for other aspiring young people. Highly recommended and worth every penny!

My two love it! I’ve got a 6 year old girl and my 12 year old boy who has autism loves it which is a big deal for me because I have struggled to find something he enjoys after school but they both enjoyed going and the tutors are great!

Thespian Arts Theatre Company has opened it’s door for the first time this week. My 9 year old, had the warmest welcome and was made to feel comfortable and secure, (so much so he’s been there all week). What a wonderful team of talented young people, who help children and young adults to reach their potential and live their dreams. Thanks to all of you and look forward to your first production.
